A brief history of Leo Ropes...

Leo Ropes is the brainchild of renowned rope artist and aerial rigger Leo Hedman. At an early age Leo’s passion for circus brought him from his homeland Sweden to the UK to train rope at The National Centre for Circus Arts. Since basing himself in London he has performed in numerous shows, cabarets and festivals all over the globe.

Leo was an early advocate of the covered rope, recognising its potential to soften the impact of coarse 3-ply against skin, allowing artists greater freedom in the air. Leo soon discovered that covered ropes could also be produced in fabulous colours – hence Leo Ropes was born!

Since it was founded in 2006 Leo Ropes has gone from strength to strength, and now proudly supplies ropes for established aerial artists, circus companies, theatres and schools across the world.
